When it was precisely 6:00 am on a Thursday, February 2, 2017, the passenger train carrying 5 passenger coaches with a capacity of 430 people and 1 general cargo wagon left Cuamba bound for Entre-Lagos. It was a historic and unforgettable morning for the residents of Entre Lagos and Niassa province in general.
This important milestone for the population and the Government of Niassa was significant for the CDN after the company rehabilitated the 77 kilometers of the Cuamba-Entre Lagos railway line that had been in poor traffic conditions for 17 years.
The passenger train that currently connects the two regions of Niassa is boosting economic activities both in the city of Cuamba and in the border town of Entre-Lagos.
