Another milestone reached in the history of the CDN was last Saturday, October 7, with the circulation of the passenger train with brakes driven by compressed air, as a result of the replacement of the “vacuum” brake system.

This is a modern technology that has been embraced by the company in the scope of improving services and enhancing safety in passenger and cargo transportation. In the first phase 10 carriages were converted to the compressed air system, and 22 carriages will be converted by the end of the year.

It is important to remember that the conversion process of vacuum brakes to compressed air began last year, where CDN in coordination with CEAR carried out the conversion of 660 freight wagons.
