Recently refurbished and under management of CFM.

The infrastructure recently opened marks the first step of the three Nacala’s port development phases that will allow the modernization and increase in liquid bulk handling capacity by 30% and containers by 80%, as well as the establishment of a fighting fire system with international defined standards.

The activities in this first phase of the port consisted in the rehabilitation of fuel and container pier in an area of 310 meters, rehabilitation of another one with 13.000 for container storage, fire system installation, container handling equipment and training operators and maintenance technicians thereof.

The second rehabilitation phase is also planned during this year 2015. On 12 October 2015, the Rehabilitation Project Implementation Unit of the Port of Nacala (UIPRPN), representing the MTC-Ministry of Transport and Communications , held formal delivery to CDN, the rehabilitated and equipment supplied under Phase Emergency Rehabilitation and Modernization of the Port of Nacala infrastructure, namely:

Container pier with the following characteristics:

190 Metros de cais; Pavimento com pavê com espessura de 12cm e área de 4.750m2; 06 Unidades de Cabeços de amarração de 70 Ton.

16 units of rubber fenders V with a diameter of 50cm.

Container yard with the following characteristics:

Area 13.000 with pavé floor 12cm thick, longitudinal beams for cranes circulation.

2 container stacking cranes units – RTGs type five-story stack, with nominal capacity of 41ton and handling capacity of 25 TEUs / hour and spare parts.
